Final Project week 6

This week I have been creating my final mock ups for my final project and i feel like they went really well and that they get the feeling of my brand across very well

Final project Evaluation

Through out this project I have learnt new skills such as how to skew in photoshop and how to create good looking mock ups using the tools provided in the adobe softwear. I have also gained a better uderstanding of how layout works and how to make a project look and feel good. If i had to do this project again somethings i would change would be; I would   try fit more into this project in the time i had to work on it for example making more mock ups or creating more advanced interactive PDF mock ups of a website. I have enjoyed this project I have found it great fun to work on and have included my own personal interests with in this project spanning from the three chouces right at the start of the project.

Final project week 4

I have written down some names that I can potentially use for my brand names like:
skateopia
concrete wave
trucks
wood
sk8
1-8-t
brain bucket clothing
king pin
kick flip clothing
goofy foot clothing

I decided to chose 1-8-T  as my brand name now i know the name of the brand I developed the name into a logo starting with rough sketches.

Now that I have the development for my logo I used these to create some digital development in the run up to my final logo design.

Final Project week 3

Now that I have looked at some of the branding for the skateboarding subculture I feel like I can go on to create my own brad creating things such as names, slogans, logos and products to sell. Ill start by writing down some name ideas and then from there I will star my logo development.

Final Project Week 2

After researching the topics I was interested in I decided that I wanted to link two of the topics together the ones I chose were branding and sub culture. I then started to research further into these topics by looking at all the different subcultures and looking at what they were and why they were a thing.

Final Project Week 1

This week we received our final project for year one. The project is a self negotiated project which I think will be great fun to do because there are no limits on what we can do! Once I had received "the brief" on what we were expected to do I started by researching the three topics subculture, brand vs anti brand and prequel vs sequel.

Style Of Objects

In this Blog post I will be talking about the style of objects and what I think that means. I think the style of objects means how something looks, feels and sits within its surroundings. How people react with it and how its purpose is betrayed by people that experience it. I thought a good thing to link to this would be the Yorkshire sculpture part, The park has lots of sculptures many interactive while many are not, some sit well and blend in with their surroundings and some don't. Its the perfect place to study the style of objects.

Yorkshire Sculpture Park

Today we went to YSP, the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. We spent the day walking around and looking at what the park had to offer and to help inspire us on our projects and link back to our sense of place with the styles of objects section.

Formative Feed back 2

Today I had my second Formative Feed back of the year I though it went well and the feed back I got was fair and well explained now I can go on and work on the feed back I have received.

My feed back; Satisfactory exploration is evident within processes of production using reasonable analogue and digital technologies.

Process projects are not up to date and need more personal annotation – more images and more rigorous analogue required
You should now look to fill this blog with experimental studio work, more posts are required to be show you are fully engaged with the course.
Blog about guest lectures, did you attend workshops?
Go above and beyond and have fun documenting your studies and experiments. Link your Instagram and relevant inspiration via web links and posts.

Penguin Book Week 6

This week I have started to complete my project by creating my final design. I am going to use what i have learnt over the last 6 weeks to complete this project by creating a final book cover which will portray what the book is about but without giving the story away. I am happy with how this project has gone so far and I am excited to completing my final design.

Penguin Book week 4

Penguin Book Week 3

After I had done some artist and book research I knew that I wanted to do the book "to kill a mockingbird" once I knew this I started to create mood boards and gather materials which would help me with my own development. Most of the books I have seen through out my research host a Mockingbird and quite neutral colours so this is what my further research will host; a wide range of imagery in which I can then develop into my own book cover.

penguin book week 2

This week on the brief i have been researching each of the books and what kind of books they are. I started looking at to kill a mocking bird and took a look at the synthesis and what the book was about then researched some already existing book covers.

To Kill A Mockingbird; To Kill a Mockingbird takes place in Alabama during the Depression, and is narrated by the main character, a little girl named Jean Louise "Scout" Finch. Her father, Atticus Finch, is a lawyer with high moral standards.

After this i went on to research some already existing book covers that people had designed using the website visual news  and the article 20 Beautifully Designed Book Covers Of Harper Lee's "To Kill A Mockingbird".

some of the names I found were; Jamie Whitelaw, Sarah Jane Coleman, Ariana Greear and Dom Chung to name but a few.

To Kill A Mockingbird cover by Dom chung.

I then went on to research the other books In Cold Blood and The secret diary of Adrian Mole.

The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole, Aged 13¾; is the first book in theAdrian Mole series of comedic fiction, written by Sue Townsend. The book is written in a diary style, and focuses on the worries and regrets of a teenager who believes himself to be an intellectual.

To research some book covers for this book I used Pinterest  to search some artists who had already designed some covers for this book. in this search I found the names; patricia Furtado, The original Sue Townsend and Carys Reynolds

book cover by Carys Reynolds.

I then went on the research the book In Cold Blood.

In Cold Blood; tells the true story of the murder of the Clutter family in Holcomb, Kansas, in 1959. The book is written as if it were a novel, complete with dialog, and is what Truman Capote referred to as "New Journalism"

I then researched some book covers; Hannah Dougan, Vivian Cheung, Michael Mackay,
